A brand that began with wood and nails has grown into a world of stories, forms and moments.

The Magari brand films bring this world together through the ideas, materials, people and spaces that continue to shape it. From initial sketches and scaled models to workshops and lived-in rooms, the films trace how design moves from thought to form, then becomes part of everyday life.

Released alongside the launch of Magari online, the main brand film marked a new chapter in this journey.

The Brand Film

Created as a portrait of Magari, the film explores the principles that guide the brand: design with purpose, quality craftsmanship, material exploration, cultural memory and close attention to detail.

It follows the journey of an idea through design, making and use, revealing the relationships between the people who create each piece and those who eventually make it part of their lives.

Two Further Perspectives

Two shorter films revisit the world of Magari through different perspectives. One looks closely at where ideas begin and how they are shaped. The other captures the movement of the brand as materials, processes and finished forms come together in rapid succession.

Massera and Aayutha start at different points. One draws from clay and play, while the other takes inspiration from Tamil script, wood, cane and familiar forms. This film traces how those references move through sketching, shaping and making, until memory becomes furniture.
